US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Meets Lawyers
Baku/14.06.22/Turan: On Tuesday, Kara McDonald, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, met with a group of Azerbaijani lawyers specializing in the protection of human rights - Elchin Sadigov, Zibeyda Sadigova and Neimat Karimli.
The meeting participanst discussed in detail the situation with human rights, electoral legislation and the Terter case, Karimli wrote on his facebook page. “Ms. McDonald emphasized that human rights are the priority for the Biden administration,” Karimli wrote.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the main problem of Azerbaijan is the provision of free elections, and if it is resolved, other issues will also be resolved. However, the current government of Azerbaijan is not interested in this.
