U.S. Says Hasn't Seen Any Effort From Russia To Engage With It On Karabakh Peace
The U.S. State Department said on Friday that it hasn't seen any effort from Russia to engage with it on Karabakh peace, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.
"If any country is eager to engage with us on Armenia and Azerbaijan and help us get to a peaceful resolution, we certainly would welcome that. But we have not seen any kind of effort from Russia as you might be referring to," the Department's principal deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel told TURAN's correspondent during a daily press briefing.
Patels' comments came as Russia's Vladimir Putin said on Friday that “goodwill” should be used to resolve conflicts around the world.
“Everyone has goodwill, and we need to use that goodwill to the fullest” to resolve any conflict, Putin said while speaking to leaders at the Commonwealth of Independent States summit.
"Let’s talk about goodwill for a second," State Department's Patel said of Putin's comments when asked for reaction by TURAN's Washingtron correspondent.
"Showing goodwill would be stopping the assault on the people of Ukraine. It would be stopping the bombs. It would be stopping the shelling of hospitals and stopping the kidnapping of children. These things are not goodwill," Patel concluded.

On October 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met at the Kremlin. One of the main topics of their negotiations was the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan. Prior to this, the Russian president had discussed a similar issue with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
