U.S. Urges Baku, Yerevan To Achieve Comprehensive Peace Agreement
Washignton on Tuesday reiterated that it "remains committed" to promoting a secure, stable, democratic, prosperous, and peaceful future for the South Caucasus region, as the State Department put it, TURAN's U.S. correspondent reports.
"... And we urge Armenia and Azerbaijan to intensify their diplomatic engagement and achieve a comprehensive peace agreement," Department's principal deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel said during a daily press briefing in response to TURAN's questions regarding the upcoming Brussels dialogue.
The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan will meet in the EU capital today for talks mediated by the European Council chief Charles Michel.
Washington recently made it clear that it supports the Brussels process, while engaging bilaterally, with like-minded partners, to facilitate direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
