U.S. 'Would Welcome' Any Dialogue Towards Peace: State Department Responds to Russian Media Claims
Washington D.C./16.06.23/Turan: The State Department on Friday responded to Russian media claims that the U.S. is "demanding" a meeting between Karabakh Armenians and Baku representatives.
"We have consistently maintained that peace in the region must include protections for the rights and securities of the people of NK. We would welcome any dialogue that furthers this," a State Department Spokesperson told TURAN's U.S. correspondent.
The move comes as diplomats in Washington insist that they are working on rescheduling the next round of peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the U.S. capital "as soon as we can".
