Vagif Khachatryan will appear in court
Baku/18.08.23/Turan: The investigation into the case of Vagif Khachatryan, accused of committing crimes against Azerbaijanis in the early 90s, is coming to an end and he will soon appear before the court, the representative of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan Emil Tagiyev said at the briefing on Friday.
Vagif Khachatryan was detained while trying to leave Karabakh for Armenia on July 29. He was on the list of persons who committed war crimes against Azerbaijanis on December 22, 1991 in the village of Meshali in the Khojaly region of Karabakh.
Khachatryan, along with other members of the Armenian military formations, participated in an armed attack on the residents of the village of Meshali, where 25 Azerbaijanis were killed, 14 were wounded, and the entire village was burned. 358 Azerbaijanis were expelled, and their property was destroyed and seized.
A criminal case has been opened against Khachatryan under the Articles 103 (genocide) and 107 (deportation or forced resettlement of the population) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. He has been wanted since November 2013. ---0---
