�Velvet� Revolution Announced in Armenia
Yerevan / 17.04.18 / Turan: The leader of the opposition party The Civil Treaty, MP of the Armenian Parliament Nikol Pashinyan said on Tuesday at France Square in Yerevan that he is "starting a velvet and peaceful revolution of the people."
"The revolutionary situation is brewing in the country. In the cities of Gyumri, Ijevan, Vanadzor, Kapan and Metsamor, protesters block streets and important highways. People do not go to work, and mass strikes have begun," Pashinyan said.
In the Armenian parliament, a special meeting continues at this moment, at which a new Prime Minister will be elected. The only candidate is former President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
