Victory Day or salvation of the "second Armenian state" in Azerbaijan?
Baku/03.12.20/Turan: The society is arguing: has a real victory come for Azerbaijan, or can we talk about an intermediate one? Considering that Azerbaijani laws do not apply to a part of Karabakh, the flag of the separatist regime has been preserved, its leaders are in command, the Armenians talk about their second state in Karabakh and even intend to declare Russian the "second state" there. Yesterday it was announced that Vitaly Balasanyan, an active participant in the 1992-1993 war, a commander guilty of the Khojaly genocide, was appointed to the post of “secretary of the Security Council” in the region not controlled by Baku. The territory is commanded by Arayik Harutyunyan, who announced a personal order to bomb residential areas of Ganja. Russian peacekeepers resolve operational issues with them, not allowing Azerbaijanis to enter the territory of Khankendi and other Karabakh settlements.
The MP Rasim Musabekov believes that it is possible to discuss the announcement of Victory Day not on November 10, but on November 9, when a trilateral statement was signed by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia; or think about the Victory on the day of the liberation of the city of Shusha, November 8. Regarding the preservation of the enemy regime in a part of the Karabakh region, R. Musabekov said that there might be different opinions on the indicators of the Victory Day: some may count from the day of the election of Armenian representatives to the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan; others prefer the Day of raising the Azerbaijani flag in Khankendi.
“But the Armenians and the whole world assess the trilateral statement precisely as an act of Armenia’s surrender, therefore, I consider November 10 as the Day of Azerbaijan’s victory in the Karabakh war,” the deputy told Turan.
The chairman of the Musavat party, in a telephone conversation with Turan, categorically does not recognize November 10 as the day of victory, since the Russian army returned to Azerbaijan after a 28-year absence by signing the Statement. Together with the Armenian army, the Russians are reviving the Armenian power in Karabakh, calling the territory controlled by the separatists "the Nagorno-Karabakh republic."
“This act was signed without the knowledge of the Azerbaijani people. The victory of the Azerbaijani army was used to preserve the Armenian power in our country. We consider the announcement of the Victory Day completely inappropriate and does not reflect the historical reality,” concluded the chair of Musavat.
Eldar Ibrahimov, a deputy from the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, said in an interview for his party's website that November 10 was recorded in the historical memory of the Azerbaijani people because on that day the country's army ended the 30-year-old occupation and restored the territorial integrity of the state. — 0—
