What positions did Azerbaijani armed forces take during fighting on September 20?
Baku/21.09.23/Turan: A representative of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that during the fighting on September 20, the Azerbaijani armed forces captured 90 Armenian positions in Karabakh.
It is not reported in which directions the progress has been achieved. However, the Armenian side reports the evacuation of thousands of residents from dozens of villages and a number of cities.
Video footage taken by Azerbaijani soldiers appeared on the Internet, which indicates that one of the directions of the attack was from Kalbajar. So, the villages of the Imarat-Gervend, Zardakhach, Gyzgala (Getavan) and Hasanriz (Aterk) are taken.
At the same time, an offensive was carried out from Terter side and a large military base was taken near the village of Tapakend (Tonashen).
Aside from this, a gold deposit Damirli (Kashen) and the village of Janyatag are taken.
According to some reports, the region center Agdere (Mardakert) has been partially evacuated.
Thus, we can talk about the opening of a strategic road between Terter and Kalbajar.
As for the southern section in the Khojavend region (Martuni), a large village of Krasny Bazar and the village of Tagavard and a number of others came under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces, which means that another road to Shusha from Fuzuli came under control.
In the eastern direction, the advance was expressed in the control over a number of villages in the Askeran region. This means that the Azerbaijani armed forces are located in the immediate vicinity of Khojaly.
There was also an advance from the city of Shusha towards Khankendi. Posts on the approaches to the village of Kyarkijahan are taken in this direction.
According to Armenian sources, during the fighting on September 19-20, the Armenian side lost about 200 killed and 400 wounded. At the same time, many military personnel are considered missing. -0-
