Yerevan received Baku's proposals for a peace agreement - Mirzoyan
Baku/07.02.23/Turan: Armenia has received Azerbaijan's next proposals for a peace agreement and is working on the text, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated on February 7 at a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock.
“We were supposed to meet in Moscow with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Russia, but due to the blocking of the Lachin corridor, the Armenian side postponed its participation. But, despite this, we passed our proposals to the Azerbaijani side and recently received new proposals on a peace treaty from Baku. We continue to work on the text,” Mirzoyan said.
This process has been going on for more than a year. During this time, Yerevan has repeatedly stated that the 5 points proposed by Baku suit Armenia, but put forward conditions in return.
The essence of Azerbaijan's proposals boiled down to mutual recognition of territorial integrity, renunciation of territorial claims in the future, demarcation of the border and conclusion of a peace treaty.
The Armenian side demanded mentioning Karabakh in the peace treaty and recognizing a certain status for it, which Baku considers unacceptable. ---02D---
