Yerevan recognized the state border with Azerbaijan
Baku/27.03.21/Turan: Posts on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan are set up on the basis of Soviet military maps of the 1970s, said Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
"The deployment of border posts is carried out within the logic of military maps of 1975-1976. This is a temporary placement until the final delimitation and demarcation of the borders. And for this it is necessary to have bilateral relations," Avinyan said in an interview with the Armenian service of Radio Liberty. According to him, the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders is a long-term process.
"We have not yet completed this process with Georgia. But sooner or later, we must go through this process with all our neighbors," Avinyan said. This is the first official recognition of the legality of Soviet borders by an official of Armenia. Before, during the occupation of Karabakh, all Armenian leaders argued that the borders established by the Soviet government were illegal, there was a territory of the so-called "NKR" covering Azerbaijani lands in the regions of Jabrail, Gubadly, Aghdam, Lachin, Zangelan, Fizuli and Kalbajar. –0—
