Youth activists appealed to the Mayor about the campaign on March 10
A group of civil society activists appealed to the Mayor of Baku with a request for a March 10 protest against the deaths of soldiers.
As the head of the youth movement NIDA Kenan Gasimli said, the initiators of the campaign asked to authorize the action at 15:00 either at the stadium in Quarter 3155 of the Yasamal district or before the Tabriz Cinema in the Nizami district.
According to Gasimli, if the municipality fails to agree, the event will be held downtown at Fountain Square.
The organizers sent invitations to 30,000 users of Faceebook. Today over 14,500 people have confirmed their participation.
Recall that a similar action of the young against soldiers’ deaths in the army was held on 12 January, after the murder of Jeyhun Gubadov in Dashkesan.
Then, dozens of people were arrested and fined.
Yesterday, the suicide of another soldier was reported. Seymour Allahverdiyev’s death again led to the just indignation of the public. -16D-
