Zangezur corridor is beneficial for Armenia - Erdogan
Baku/16.06.21/Turan: Azerbaijan and Turkey propose to create a regional platform of stability and eliminate hostility in the region, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said speaking in the Milli Majlis on Wednesday.
“My brother (President Ilham Aliyev - ed.) and I put forward a proposal. We want to create a platform - Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran, Armenia and Georgia,” he said.
“Georgia had questions in this regard, and this issue was discussed with the Prime Minister of this country during his last visit to Turkey. I said that it would be good for Georgia, let us take this step. You know about the problems that exist between Armenia and us. We want a solution to the problem. Likewise, this platform will be useful for solving your problems with Russia. This region needs peace, we must do it,” Erdogan said.
He also announced the huge benefits for the entire region from the opening of the Zangezur Corridor. “All this is the beginning of a new era for Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Armenians will also be able to travel to Moscow by rail, which will be laid along the Zangezur corridor, thereby freeing themselves from the blockade into which they have driven themselves. The benefits of opening the border with Turkey for Armenia are incalculable," Erdogan said. 06D-
