Ziya Mammadov's brother was suspended from participating in the parliamentary elections
The nomination of Elton Mammadov as a candidate for deputy was canceled due to the identification of falsifications in his documents, a member of this structure, Gabil Orujev announced at today's meeting of the CEC. The reason for the proceedings in the Mammadov case was the appeal of a group of voters from the 94th Ujar electoral district, from where E. Mammadov ran. During the inspection, it was revealed that E.Mammadov did not specify apartments with a large area in Baku, non-residential premises in the property declaration. Mammadov's concealment of income as an entrepreneur was also established.
The concealment of this information is considered falsification, Orujev stressed. In addition, the repeated verification of the signatures of voters collected in favor of E. Mammadov was carried out. Most of the signatures turned out to be falsified. In this regard, the approval of Mammadov's candidacy was canceled by the district election commission. Elton Mammadov is the brother of former Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov, and he had previously been a deputy of the Milli Majlis of several convocations.
