A man was blown up by a mine and killed in Fizuli

Baku / 01.01.20 / Turan: On January 1, a resident of Azerbaijan Babayev Zabil (1981) was blown up by an anti-personnel mine in the Fizuli region.

He was taken to hospital, where doctors amputated both of his legs, but his life could not be saved, according to a joint information from the General Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Agency for the Clearance of Landmines of Azerbaijan (ANAMA).

Despite repeated warnings from government agencies, citizens, bypassing posts, penetrate the territories liberated from the occupation, putting themselves at risk of being blown up by mines and unexploded ordnance.

The Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and ANAMA ask the population not to travel without special permission to the territories liberated from the occupation until they are completely cleared of mines and other ammunition. -0-
