Appeal to the Readers of the Turan News Agency

Dear Readers,

For more than three decades, the Turan News Agency has been a pillar of independent journalism in Azerbaijan, providing objective and reliable reporting amid political and economic instability. Founded in 1990, in the final days of the Soviet Union, we have endured the challenges of transition, war, and reform while remaining committed to journalism that serves the public interest.

However, today we must face an unavoidable reality: due to persistent financial constraints, we can no longer sustain our news operations in their current form. Despite tireless efforts to secure the necessary resources to continue, the financial difficulties that have plagued us for years have finally forced us to make the difficult decision to suspend the agency's activities in its present format.

This is not the end of our mission but rather an evolution. The information space is changing, and we recognize the need to adapt. In the coming months, we will explore new formats—ones that focus not only on news but also on analysis, identifying key issues, and proposing solutions. The future of journalism is not just about breaking news but about fostering understanding.

We are deeply grateful to you, our readers, for your trust and support. Your engagement has been the driving force behind our work, and we hope to continue this journey together in a new and meaningful way. While we step away from our current model, we remain steadfast in our core goal: to serve as an independent voice, providing insight into an increasingly complex world.

The story of Turan is far from over. Stay with us.

Sincerely,

On behalf of the Turan News Agency team,
Mehman Aliyev, Director
