Academicians fired for financial violations
Baku/09.01.21/Turan: As a result of financial violations revealed at the Institute of Physics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the director and his deputy were dismissed.
The decision was adopted at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS on January 8, the press release of the Academy says.
In particular, violations in the award of prizes, the issuance of travel expenses contrary to the law, and the misuse of budget funds were revealed during the inspection in the Institute of Physics.
There were cases of gross violation of the requirements of labor legislation on personnel activities, labor and executive discipline.
In this regard, it was decided to dismiss the director of the institute, academician Nazim Mamedov, his deputy for scientific work, academician Javad Abdinov, chief accountant Irada Gulubekova and head of the personnel department Parvana Iskenderova.
At the same time, academician Nazim Mammadov was also dismissed from the post of coordinator of Azerbaijan at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna.
Academician Adil Garibov was appointed Temporary Director of the Institute of Physics. — 06D-
