In Azerbaijan, the number of marriages continues to decline, and the number of divorces continues to grow
Baku/16.08.23/Turan: On August 16, the State Statistics Committee (SSC) announced the demographic indicators of Azerbaijan for July 1, 2023.
By the specified date, the population of the country was 10,151,517 people.
The urban population is 54.6%, rural - 45.4%, males - 49.8%, females - 50.2%.
On average, there are 1010 women for every 1000 men. In January-July of this year, 53,918 children were born, that is, 10.7 children per 1000 people.
Among those born, boys accounted for 53.2%, and girls - 46.8%.
Of those born, 1,580 were twins, 75 were triplets and 4 were quadrupeds.
In the six months of 2023, the Registry Office registered 24,146 marriages and 10,631 divorces.
The number of marriages per 1,000 people decreased from 5.8 to 4.8, and the number of divorces increased from 1.5 to 2.1, the State Statistics Committee said. ---0---

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has not been invited to observe the parliamentary elections scheduled in Azerbaijan for September 1.
