Second Escaped Prisoner Rendered Harmless
Baku / 02.11.17 / Turan: Last night during a special operation of law enforcement agencies, the prisoner Etibar Mammadov, who escaped during his transfer on October 23, was killed.
The Prosecutor General"s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs report that during the operation to detain Mammadov known by the nickname Goja, a shootout took place between him and law enforcement officers.
As a result of the shooting, Mammadov was killed, and Anar Askerov and Shahmar Bayalizadeh, who helped him escape, were wounded.
Mammadov was one of the two prisoners who escaped on October 23 during the transfer to Baku in a Baku-Astara-Baku special purpose car accompanied by a railway guard.
As a result of operational and investigative measures, Ali Agami, who escaped from the guard, was arrested on October 26 and Etibar Mammadov was hiding.
After the two prisoners escaped, 21 employees of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice were brought to disciplinary responsibility, including 15 people expelled from the justice bodies, or dismissed from their offices. Four people, including the former commander of the escort battalion, Lieutenant-Colonel of Justice Bahruz Abdullayev, were arrested. --0---
