A joint checkpoint for Russian peacekeepers and representatives of Azerbaijan will appear in Lachin - General Volkov
Baku/05.12.22/Turan: An agreement was reached on the establishment of a joint “mini-customs” with the Azerbaijani side at the First post of Russian peacekeepers (Lachin), the commander of the peacekeepers, Major General Andrei Volkov told the Azerbaijani journalists on December 3 in the city of Shusha. According to him, special equipment will be installed there to check cargo and vehicles.
When asked if it was true that Russian peacekeepers let 14 Iranian citizens through the Lachin corridor, Volkov said that this issue was being investigated.
“I read about it in the press and we started to check all this, who arrived, on what transport, with what documents,” Volkov said and added: “I know that they were expelled from here two days later.”
These statements by Volkov were not shown in the reports of Azerbaijani TV channels, which covered in detail the events of December 3, when representatives of Azerbaijan blocked the traffic between Karabakh and Armenia. These shots appeared only today - two days later and only in social networks.
The Azerbaijani side has not announced a decision to establish a joint checkpoint in Lachin. ---02D---
