Bill "On Space Activities" is being discussed in Milli Majlis
Baku/11.05.23/Turan: Committees of Milli Majlis have begun discussing the draft law "On Space Activities". The bill is a legislative initiative of the President of the country.
Note that the discussions in the Parliament coincided with the debates over cooperation issues in the space sector with chief operating officer of the American company |SpaceX" Gwen Shotwell.
According to the document, physical and legal entities, as well as state bodies in Azerbaijan will carry out space activities through a space operator. It is allowed to involve a foreign space operator in the implementation of space activities on the basis of an agreement concluded with a space operator.
Subjects of space activity have the right to lease, rent and use space facilities and objects of the space industry of international organizations, foreign states and other foreign persons.
The draft law says that space activities in Azerbaijan can be carried out on the basis of 5 principles: for use of outer space for peaceful purposes; for protection of national interests; for use of space resources; for state control over national activities; for safety of the space industry; for disposal of space waste. -03-
