Rais of Tatarstan to come to Baku for 'Sabantui'
Baku/16.06.23/Turan: Baku will host traditional Tatar bank holidays "Sabantui" with concert program on June 18 in the Seaside Park.
The holiday is also coincided with the visit of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Miinikhanov, who will speak at the opening ceremony of the event.
As part of the festivities several thematic areas will be organized in the Seaside Park, the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan told Turan.
In particular, a photo zone stylized as a tea room will be presented at the "House of Baursek".
Tatar sweets, tea, pottery and baursak pastries will be available for purchase.
Those willing can take part in a master class on painting national patterns on tea coasters in the form of a wooden samovar.
At the "House of National Wisdom" here visitors will be able to see the exhibition "Spirituality, culture, enlightenment", dedicated to Tatar public figures, as well as take part in thematic master classes.
A Tatar ritual "meeting the bride at the groom's house" will be presented at the "Family Hearth" courtyard.
A folk crafts fair and various contests will also be included in the programme of the cultural event.
Sabantuy participants will also be able to take part in entertainment games.
A concert featuring artists from the Republic of Tatarstan and Azerbaijan will take place on the main stage. Entry to the event is free.
The event "Sabantui 2023", which this year is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the late Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev, will be held on Sunday from 10.00 to 16.00. -06В-
