Residents of the capital once again faced with the abnormal actions of the authorities, which resulted in a sudden demolition of the cinema Azerbaijan in the center of Baku.
One of the calling cards of the city, which previously was subjected to terrible alterations and "improvement", this time turned out to be simply destroyed. At the site there are only three walls left and it is not clear what the authors of the new idea intend to do. There is no explanation or information about who is working on the site or what is happening there. It is unclear, who is the author of the project.
In short, we can only wait, but considering the taste of the city authorities and the previous experience of such accomplishment, we can expect anything: once again they could build a grandiose skyscraper of glass and metal in high-tech, or some monster sharply contrasting with the surrounding historic buildings.
In the previous "improvement" they had built up stone plates upon the beautiful lawn in front and behind the monument to Natavan. As a result, the whole architectural ensemble of the area was broken.
Our efforts to get a comment or to learn more about the future of the area from the City Hall and the Ministry of Culture were to no avail. -02B-

People seek to learn about past eras by conducting research on the internet, watching films, or being regular attendees of theatrical performances. Some periods in cultural history have not been deeply studied, and finding precise, detailed information in the Azerbaijani language is nearly impossible. One such period is the Qajar era, which lasted from 1794 to 1985.
