Baku to Host International Tango Festival
Baku / 19.11.19 / Turan: The International Baku Tango Festival will be held in Baku on November 29 - December 1.
The event is organized by the Embassy of Argentina to Azerbaijan and United Cultures, in collaboration with The Landmark Baku, Baku Metropolitan, Nizami Cinema and Nizami Restaurant & Lounge and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and a number of educational and cultural institutions of Azerbaijan.
The Festival, which is held for the third time, will feature recognized dancers. 2019 World and European Champions Augustina Piaggio and Maxim Gerasimov (Argentina / Russia), Julio Saavedra and Tekla Gogriciani (Argentina / Georgia), Yakof Shonsky and Mariam Rossa (Georgia) and Cecilia Acosta and Levan Gomelauri (Argentina / Georgia) will participate as special guests in the festival.
Famous performers of modern Argentinean tango - Victor Hugo Villena and Lautaro Tisser will also perform at the Festival.
The most important event of the Festival will be the Gala show, which will take place on Saturday evening in the Great Hall of the Nizami Cinema, where all artists from different countries will play and dance on stage.
After the Gala show, the dance scene will be placed at the disposal of the audience for free tango, so that everyone can feel the spirit of the Argentine tango.
Tango lessons will also be provided, a conference on the history of tango and master classes for musicians will be held, and a documentary will be shown.
The aim of the festival is to popularize the culture and music of Argentina, as well as familiarize the Azerbaijani audience with new artists, dancers and rhythms. –06D--
