Filmmakers Union Celebrates National Cinema Day
Baku / 08.08.19 / Turan: On August 1, members of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan (UCA) celebrated National Cinema Day at the premises of the new Cinema House.
Separate congratulations were awarded to the jubilees - director of photography, director Ogtay Alizadeh, playwright Amir Pehlevan and film artist Elfira Huseynova.
During the event, annual film awards were awarded. This year they were awarded to:
- Film director Murad Ibrahimbekov - for the documentary trilogy Man;
- Actress Zulfiya Gurbanova - for the psychologically subtle performance of the main role in the film Mövsümün Sonu (End of Season);
- Film Director Jahangir Zeynalli - for his services to national cinema;
- Actress Shukyufa Yusupova - for loyalty to the ideals of the profession.
On August 2, the official website of the Azerbaijan Filmmakers Union will be launched - www.aki.az. The portal contains sections: "About the organization", "Activities", "News", "Gallery", "Contacts", as well as about 10 subsections. The site operates in Azerbaijani, Russian and English.
UCA is a public organization uniting cinema workers. It was created at the I Founding Congress of film workers on January 11, 1963. -02D-
