Reserve "Khynalyg and the Nomadic Way" is being created
Baku /04.09.23/Turan: By order of the head of state, the state historical, cultural and ethnographic reserve "Khynalyg and the Nomadic Way" is being created.
According to the document, the reserve will cover more than 200 kilometers of the nomadic route from the village of Khynalyg in the Guba region to the Pirsaat reservoir in the Hajikabul region.
The nomadic path runs through the territories of Gusar, Guba, Shamakhi, Gobustan, Absheron and Hajigabul regions.
The Cabinet of Ministers is instructed to designate and approve the borders and the protected area of the reserve within five months, determine a special regime on its territory and inform the President.
The management of the reserve is entrusted to the State Tourism Agency.
* The village of Khynalyg is the highest mountainous settlement in the Eastern Caucasus (2300 m). Its inhabitants are native speakers of a unique language belonging to the Dagestan group of languages.
Khynalyg is one of six similar villages in the mountainous part of the Guba region that has its own language. -06D-

On February 11, the Ritual Theatre and Creative Laboratory in Baku hosted a powerful documentary theatre performance, “The Melting Snow Stories of Baku,” marking the conclusion of a workshop dedicated to site-specific theatre. This workshop brought together 15 artists from various age groups, all exploring the transformative power of storytelling to address climate change. The event was directed by British theatre director Sebastian Harcombe of SECRET/HEART Theatre Company and Aynur Zərrintac of Ritual Theatre. It was supported by the British Council.
