The action in memory of the outstanding Kazakh poet Abai was held in Baku
Anadolu: Representatives of the creative intelligentsia, Abai scholars and writers of Azerbaijan took part in a commemorative event in Baku on the occasion of the celebration of the 177th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet and educator Abai Kunanbayev, Kazinform reports.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Serzhan Abdykarimov and the participants of the event laid flowers at the memorial plaque of Abai and honored the bright memory of the outstanding Kazakh poet.
The Abayeveds were thanked for their long-term work on translating the poet's works into Azerbaijani, respect and love for his heritage, which is valuable for the entire Turkic world and world literature.
The participants noted that Abai is an outstanding son, a scientist and the pride of the Kazakhs, who showed the right path leading his people to happiness and prosperity, and his work belongs to all mankind, at the same time to the fraternal Azerbaijani people.
The main event of the campaign was the presentation of the book "The Greatness of Abai or an attempt to create a portrait of a thinker in the XXI century" by Teymur Atayev, a well–known Azerbaijani historian, publicist and theologian. The publication analyzes Abai's famous work "Words of Edification", where the poet's thoughts are compared with the revelations of the holy Quran.
The guests were lucky enough to taste traditional dishes of Kazakh cuisine, watch videos about the modern development, cultural and tourist attractions of Kazakhstan in the Kazakh yurt installed on the Primorsky Boulevard of Baku. A colorful addition to the memorable event was the performance of famous songs and musical compositions based on Abai's poems and music.
