Aghdam city destroyed by Armenians
The Ministry of Culture urges recognized French cultural figures to be honest and impartial
Baku/23. 11.20/Turan: A group of famous French cultural figures signed an open appeal in support of Armenian separatism in Karabakh, prepared based on lies and slander.
The appeal demonstrates solidarity with the Armenians, concern for their fate in Karabakh, support for the so-called "genocide of 1915" and the insidious plans of Azerbaijan in general, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan notes.
The Ministry of Culture reports that for almost thirty years, Armenia illegally occupied the internationally recognized territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven adjacent regions, without fulfilling the resolutions 822, 853, 874, 884 of the UN Security Council.
As a result of the aggressive policy of Armenia during the period of long-term occupation, real historical and cultural monuments belonging to the Azerbaijani people were destroyed, appropriated and desecrated. Along with residential buildings, educational and industrial facilities in the occupied territories, hundreds of cultural institutions, including 927 libraries with 4.6 million book funds; 808 palaces of culture; clubs and houses of culture; 85 music and art schools; 22 museums and museum branches with more than 100,000 exhibits; 4 art galleries; 4 theatrical institutions; 2 concert institutions; 8 parks of culture and recreation; more than 2,000 of such barbaric attitudes towards cultural heritage, including unique monuments of special importance, should be considered as a threat to the world heritage.
It is a pity that influential cultural figures took part in this appeal, which was presented to the world community without relying on relevant evidence and facts, scientific research and research and became an instrument of Armenian propaganda. Such an unprofessional approach casts a shadow on the image and impartiality of these people, the appeal says. Despite the fact that UNESCO is a member state of the Hague Convention of 1954 "On the Protection of Cultural Property in Time of Armed Conflict" and the Paris Convention of 1970 "On measures aimed at smuggling, exporting from the country and illegally granting property rights to someone else ”, there is irrefutable evidence that Armenia destroyed, forged, plundered the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan in the occupied territories.
The Ministry invites famous figures of culture and science of France to visit our territories liberated from occupation in order to witness the cultural genocide committed against Azerbaijan, and to see in real time the current state of Azerbaijan's heritage, which was destroyed and vandalized. — 0—

In a world increasingly marred by the effects of climate change, art has emerged as an unexpected, yet powerful, platform for raising awareness and sparking conversations on environmental responsibility. One such endeavor is the exhibition "A Different Kind of Climate," currently on display at Kapellhaus with support from the Goethe-Institut. The timing of this exhibition is no coincidence, aligning with the upcoming COP29, the UN Climate Change Conference to be held in Baku from November 11 to 22. The exhibition seeks to engage audiences on pressing ecological issues, blending local and international perspectives.
