How to fight methamphetamine?
Baku/07.07.21/Turan: A lawyer Aslan Ismailov told about the situation with the spread of methamphetamine among young people (an artificial drug, popularly called (şüşə) - glass, patı); in Russia - meth, ice, crystal, mud, plant) and its threats, in the “Difficult Question” program of TURAN news agency.
According to him, the distribution of drugs, and in particular artificial ones, used to be in Azerbaijan earlier, but in a much more limited quantity, was expensive and was not distributed in such an organized manner.
The acceleration in the spread of drug addiction has several reasons. According to Ismayilov, a number of neighboring states are doing this deliberately. In addition, the same forces organized the production of this drug on the territory of Azerbaijan. As a result, the price of methamphetamine dropped sharply. So, earlier 1 gram cost 100-150 manats, now 5-10 manats. The difficult economic situation in the country pushes people into the drug business and children from low-income families, including girls, are susceptible to this evil.
The lawyer believes that Iran is behind all this. "There is an undeclared war against the Azerbaijani state and people," Ismayilov said.
“I don’t understand why the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Commission on Combating Drugs, Ali Ahmedov, is still silent. His direct responsibility is to coordinate the fight against drug trafficking. The government should have held a meeting on this issue long ago,” Ismayilov said.
The authorities and the public must join forces in the fight against this evil. An atmosphere of intolerance towards drug producers and distributors must be created, the lawyer concluded.
