Prigozhin's death, events in Karabakh, "Lavrov's proposals"
Bakг/24.08.23/Turan: A devastating plane crash has cast a somber shadow over Russia, as an Embraer Legacy aircraft, bearing the registration number RA-02795, tragically plummeted in the Bologovsky district of the Tver region. The aircraft belonged to Yevgeny Prigozhin, the controversial founder of the private military company Wagner, with a reported ten souls on board, including three crew members. Regrettably, all occupants, including Prigozhin, are believed to have perished. The accident has unveiled a veil of suspicion, with some hinting at potential foul play.
Tensions within the volatile Karabakh region persist, accompanied by a diplomatic tit-for-tat between Armenian and Azerbaijani officials. The discord reached a crescendo when Armenian media published a document purportedly drafted by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The document, titled "Basic principles and parameters for ensuring the security and rights of the Armenian population in the territory of the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region of the Azerbaijan SSR in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan," contains 14 distinct provisions.
The apparent release of this document by Tigran Petrosyan, associated with the irredentist regime in Karabakh, stoked intrigue. Dated July 25, the document outlines proposals for the Karabakh conflict, adding a layer of complexity to the already intricate geopolitical scenario. Notably, the document was disclosed following a trilateral meeting between Lavrov and his counterparts from Azerbaijan and Armenia in Moscow.
Renowned political commentator Rauf Mirkadyrov offered insights into these recent developments in a segment aptly named "Difficult Question." Mirkadyrov's analysis gravitated toward the untimely fate of Yevgeny Prigozhin, a figure with a checkered past intricately linked to Russia's political landscape. Mirkadyrov speculated on the circumstances surrounding Prigozhin's demise, positing that his intricate knowledge of Kremlin operations and controversial exploits might have rendered him a target. Prigozhin's association with nefarious acts, including the alleged orchestrations behind journalist assassinations and interference in foreign elections, had cast a shadow over his name.
Addressing the ongoing tensions within the Armenian-populated section of Karabakh, Mirkadyrov noted the paradoxical coexistence of daily skirmishes and diplomatic peace talks. Despite routine clashes, the momentum of peace negotiations continues undeterred.
Turning his gaze to the "Lavrov Plan," Mirkadyrov underscored a critical shortcoming: the document's silence on the pivotal matter of ensuring Armenian security. In his assessment, the absence of a coherent answer to this core concern renders the plan's efficacy questionable at best.
As the aftermath of the plane crash unfolds and diplomatic intricacies persist in the Karabakh realm, the international community remains poised for answers, ascertaining the course of events and the evolving contours of geopolitical dynamics.

Azerbaijan is experiencing a rare economic paradox: inflation has fallen below 1%, yet the country’s GDP has seen a significant decrease. According to official data from the State Statistics Committee, the annual inflation rate from January to April 2024 was just 0.7% compared to the same period in 2023. This includes a 0.7% decrease in the consumer price index for food, beverages, and tobacco products, a 1.3% increase for non-food products, and a 2.4% rise for paid services.
