Russian-Ukrainian war. Day 2
Baku/25.02.22/Turan: The second day of the war between Russia and Ukraine is underway. The attention of the whole world is riveted to Ukraine. What is the political and psychological situation in Ukraine? Do Ukrainians feel alone in this war?
Yalchin Gahramanli, a public activist living in Ukraine, answers these and other questions in the “Difficult Question” program.
According to him, the Kiev authorities urged residents not to leave their homes, but at the sound of a siren, run to bomb shelters or shelters. “But despite the gravity of the situation, the spirit of the Ukrainian people is not broken, they are ready for struggle and resistance. People keep calm and restraint. Ukrainians are exceptionally courageous people,” Gahramanli said. According to him, there are no Russian troops in Kiev, but a sabotage group entered the city and was destroyed. However, the situation is extremely tense.
“The Russian army, attacking from four directions, is trying to break through to Kiev. The goal of the Kremlin is to destroy the central government in Ukraine, to kill President Vladimir Zelensky and bring a puppet government to power in this country, in order to conclude a union treaty and subsequently restore the USSR,” the activist believes.
According to Gahramanli, despite the severity of the situation, the spirit of the Ukrainian people is not broken, they are ready for struggle and resistance.
“People keep calm and restraint. Ukrainians are exceptionally courageous people, but, Ukraine feels abandoned by everyone. Ukraine was attacked by a strong enemy, but in the fight against it, no one supports it,” he says. Gahramanli believes that Ukraine is alone.
“Western countries are imposing sanctions against Russia, but this will not help Ukraine much. By and large, despite the declared values, the Western countries left the young Ukrainian democracy in trouble, although in Ukraine their fate is being decided, among other things," Gahramanli said, adding that even if the Ukrainian army is defeated, the Ukrainian people will not accept this, a guerrilla war will begin.---0—
