School violence. Who is responsible for this?
Baku/04.10.22/Turan: A video footage in which a student of school No.112 of Baku was subjected to bullying and beating in a classroom was posted in social media the other day. An investigation is ongoing, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. The Baku Education Department is also investigating the incident.
The school itself reported that there had been no disputes between students before. The student who filmed the video brought two smartphones to school. He handed over one to the class teacher, and kept the other, with which he filmed the scene of violence. The class teacher, having learned about the conflict, immediately talked to the students, and they said they realized their mistake and reconciled.
But is reconciliation a means of combating bullying?
The most alarming thing is that this incident occurred at the school during classes, she said. “Such an incident in the center of education indicates that a mistake has been made somewhere. We often react to a situation, but to improve the situation, preventive measures are needed. Although we, as the Public Council, see that enough events are being held in connection with bullying.”
According to Safarova, the incident at school No. 112 showed the significance of the relationship in the education system. “Any simple mistake is fraught with serious consequences. One of these mistakes is the break of bonds between parents, the community, and the school. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the family in raising a child. Unfortunately, the importance of the responsibility of parents for the upbringing the younger generation is not discussed. At the same time, there are facts of inaction or erroneous actions of the school,” says Safarova.
According to her, at present, the Ministry of Education, together with a member of the Public Council, Parvana Mammadova, is working on spreading anti-bullying policy in schools and turning anti-bullying into the norm, forming its own anti-bullying model in each school.--0--
