Who is behind the intimate scandal associated with the Ministry of Emergency Situations?
Baku/17.08.22/Turan: The Prosecutor General's Office started an investigation into the distribution of video clips on the Internet, which depicted the sex of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations
They say that the main character of this video clip is a high-ranking officer (colonel) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, "having fun" in this way with employees of the department.
“In connection with these facts, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan is currently carrying out the necessary procedural actions in accordance with the requirements of the law, with the initiation of relevant investigations and sending requests to the relevant state structures. The public will be given additional information about the results of the investigations,” the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
It is also reported that these videos were filmed in 2014. It is curious that almost the same videos were distributed by various sites. This suggests that the leak of intimate "clips" is intended to discredit the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has not yet issued any statements.
Who ordered this video? Who hit a low blow on the Ministry of Emergency Situations?
Economist Nazim Beydamirli answers these and other questions in the “Difficult Question” program.
He found it difficult to say who could be behind the scandal.
“I cannot make any assumptions about this, but I must say that from time to time we hear the echoes of battles between various departments. We have repeatedly witnessed how various state bodies are trying to discredit and compromise each other. Apparently, this has become commonplace in the public administration system, Beydamirli said.
However, he noted that for decades, the media have repeatedly written about the existence of the problem of gender inequality in Azerbaijan, the facts of gross violation of women's rights, harassment, sexual harassment in the workplace.
“I am sure that there have been dozens complaints, and possibly hundreds of appeals of sexual harassment to the prosecutor's office. But none of them reacted as now. Usually, the Prosecutor General's Office begins to react only when the crime had been committed, and has become the subject of public censure. Only then the Prosecutor General's Office begins to follow up with pathos statements, throw thunder and lightning.
Until now, we have not heard of anyone being punished for sexual harassment. Although, as already mentioned, there are plenty of such cases,” the economist is convinced.
