An Armenian became the head of one of the districts of the Turkish city of Denizli

Baku/17.08.22/Turan:  The day before, a Turkish citizen of Armenian origin, Berk Achar, was appointed the head of the Babadag district of the city of Denizli. Berk Akar, 27-years-old, became the first Armenian to hold such a post in modern Turkey, Turkish media reported.

Berk Akar was born in Istanbul in 1995. He graduated from the private Armenian secondary school named after Sahakyan Nunyan. In 2020, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Bilgi University. Completed a legal internship in Sisli.

In 2021 he passed a written exam in Ankara,  and ranked  the 72nd out of 13,374 candidates. 475 people were invited for an interview. Berk Akar was among those who went to public office. It is expected that in the coming days the young head of the district will arrive in the district and begin his duties.

About 70 thousand ethnic Armenians,citizens of this country, live in Turkey. About 40,000 more Armenian citizens live and work in Turkey. -02B-
