Activity of International Inspection Company Suspended
The State Accreditation Service (SAS) decided to suspend the activity of the inspection body of the company SGS Azeri Ltd. The validity period of certificates of accreditation of the testing laboratory for determining the quality of some building materials and a laboratory of oil, gas and chemical products has also been suspended.
The decision was made on the results of audit conducted in the inspection body of SGS Azeri Ltd. on March 15-17 of this year, the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents said on 7 April.
During the audit, the lack of a management system in the company’s inspection body was revealed. Many measuring instruments, including those used in the Sangachal terminal, were not submitted for periodic inspection.
So far SGS Azeri Ltd. has not commented on the SAS action. -----08D

Discussions were held in Baku within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, focusing on the "Decarbonization and Climate Adaptation of the Cotton-to-Clothing Value Chain." Among other topics, the state of cotton farming in Azerbaijan was also addressed.

Azerbaijan has attracted significant interest from companies in both developing and developed countries, as well as from state and private sector representatives of at least 10 nations, regarding participation as shareholders in the Climate Finance Action Fund (CFAF), which has a total budget of $1 billion.
