AGTA calls for the suppression of animal slaughter in unsanitary conditions
Baku/07.05.21/Turan: The Food Safety Agency (AGTA) has appealed to the local executive authorities to stop the slaughter of animals in places prohibited by law, i.e. in public and in unsanitary conditions.
"Information on the detected facts of illegal butchering has been collected locally and forwarded to the local executive authorities for appropriate action," the AGTA said in a statement.
The issue of slaughter is regulated by Order No. 199 of the President of Azerbaijan dated 11 June 2018 on the regulation of slaughter activities.
According to the decree, AGTA has been instructed to implement measures in cooperation with local executive authorities with the involvement of business entities to establish slaughterhouses and equip them with appropriate laboratories.
