Annual Conference Development and Implementation of Tax System Starts in Baku
The fifth annual conference entitled "Development and implementation of the tax system" started in Baku.
According to the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) Ilgar Veliyev, its main purpose is discussion of improving compliance with tax obligations, tax reforms and changes to the Tax Code, as well as the development of partnerships between businesses and the tax authorities.
As the head of the Tax Policy and Strategic Research of the Ministry of Taxes Natig Shirinov noted, recent changes in the tax code are aimed at optimizing tax rates and simplifying the tax administration. Now taxpayers in certain areas have the right to choose the issue of taxation.
At that time, as the speakers talked about the achievements, the partner of Deloitte in Azerbaijan Nuran Karimov proposed the use of tax incentives for non-cash calculation on the example of the world's leading practice - so, in many countries there are restrictions on cash transactions, and, let's say, one cannot buy a car for cash. So there should be a specific transaction, where a mandatory payment will be made only in non-cash form.
Given that, first of all, banks win from non-cash payments, it is they that have to reduce the size of the commission when withdrawing money from an account. "As long as people are not confident in the security of non-cash payments, this form of payment will not be widespread because cybercrime is a problem all over the world. He noted that one of the problems of transition to non-cash payments is incomplete transparency in the economy.
The conference consists of two panels. The first of these presentations is provided on topics concerning tax administration and improvement, and the second will cover the topics of tax administration and improving communication between taxpayers and tax authorities. --17D-
