Baku/18.03.14/Turan : In January and February of this year, the State Statistics Committee recorded an increase in consumer prices at an annualized rate of 2.1 %. In fact, core inflation was even lower - 1.5%.
According to the State Statistics Committee, within two months of the year compared with the same month of 2013 , food prices rose by 2.4% , non-food products - 3.5% and paid services - 0.2%.
2 months of this year the price of cigarettes increased by 15.8%. At the same time , for the first 2 months of 2013 the price of this product is harmful to the body increased by 12.3 %. According to experts , domestic demand for tobacco products by 95% met by imports.
According to estimates of the State Statistics Committee , on an annualized basis in the month of February prices increased significantly for butter ( 12.5 %) , cheese ( 8.3 %) , milk ( 9.9 % ), tea ( 4.8 ) chicken eggs ( 37.8 %), salt ( 7.1 %). Consumers felt particularly higher prices of potatoes ( 2 times) , onions ( 74.4 %) , cabbage ( 33.4 %) and green ( 31.3 %).
Core CPI is based on changes in prices , excluding products whose prices are regulated by the state , as well as goods for which prices are influenced by seasonal factors . As you know, in December 2013 the government raised the retail price of fuel . According to the SSC, fuel prices increased on average by 29.4%. This and other factors led to lower retail prices for cars at an annualized rate of 3.8% . - 08D-
