Azerbaijani President Endorses Living Wage and Need Criterion
Baku / 22.12.18 / Turan: President Ilham Aliyev approved the law "On the subsistence minimum in Azerbaijan for 2019".
According to the document, the cost of living in the country for the next year is set at 180 manat. For the able-bodied population this indicator is set at 191 manat, for pensioners - 149 manat, and for children - 160 manat.
The President also approved the law "On the criterion of need in Azerbaijan for 2019," according to which the criterion of need for the appointment of targeted social assistance is set at 143 manat.
Both laws come into force on January 1, 2019. -06D--

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
