Baku Summer Energy School 2014 starts today
The 8th Annual Baku Summer Energy School organized by the Caspian Centre for Energy and Environment (CCEE) under the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) through the partnership with SOCAR starts today. It unites world known scientists, Academicians, political scientists and specialists studying the global problems of energy and environment and their practical application.
A source from CCEE told Turan that this year 40 participants from various countries take part at the Baku Summer Energy School.
Hafiz Pashayev, Azerbaijan Deputy Foreign Minister and ADA rector, and Halik Mammadov, SOCAR Vice President for Human Resources and Information Technologies, will address the participants during the opening.
The morning session will be devoted to the geological aspects of oil and natural gas extraction. The usual methods and trends of oil and non-traditional methods of hydrocarbons extraction will be discussed at the session. The issues related to their technological development and their ecological consequences will be also discussed.
Then Khoshbakht Yusifzada, SOCAR Senior Vice President for Geology, Geophysics and Fields Development, will make a speech about the perspectives of the Caspian hydrocarbons.
The participants of the Baku Summer Energy School will be also told about modeling of the gas agreements.
The event is supported by the US ExxonMobil oil company, which has been developing Azerbaijani offshore projects since 1995.
