Bunyaviridae can be overcome this week

In a short period of detection of the virus in the territory of Azerbaijan Bunyaviridae was cured by symptomatic means 215 thousand heads of cattle. According to the observations of the State Veterinary Service (SVS), today remains about 3,000 heads of ill livestock, which can be cured in a few days.

The Cabinet ordered on August 29 on the allocation of 2 million 350 thousand manats to the SVS from the reserve fund of the state budget for the implementation of prevention activities to combat diseases of farm animals. The funds will be used to purchase special-purpose vehicles, equipment, medical drugs and disinfection agents.

The spokesman for SVS Yolchu Khanveli told Turan, Bunyaviridae virus spread to the country in July, despite warnings from veterinarians on the keeping of animals in a stable. The virus is transmitted to animals only in the transmissible way that is by the bite of insects - bloodsuckers. "Scientific methods of treatment of the virus are not present. In the event of detection the period of illness lasts no more than 2-3 days," he said.

Milk of the sick animals cannot be used, although the virus is destroyed by boiling at 70-80 degrees. The meat of the cured animals is suitable for consumption, say veterinarians.
