On October 17 the Central Bank of Azerbaijan will hold another deposit auction for commercial banks, the Central Bank said in a statement. The Central Bank intends to attract AZN 50 million for a period of 28 days.
The Central Bank started deposit auctions in June 2016. Until now 15 auctions of the sort have been carried out.
According to international practice, the main purpose of deposit auctions is the sterilization of money supply. At the time of deposit auctions the Central Bank receives commercial banks' deposits for placement. ---71D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
