For 4 years number of unemployed has decreased by only 16 thousand people
At the beginning of January 2013 in Azerbaijan, there were 243.1 thousand unemployed in the methodology of the International Labor Organization. The unemployment rate was 5.18%, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the number of employed people in the country on the first of January of this year reached 4 445.3 thousand. Over the year, employment in the country increased by exactly 70 thousand people. In 2010-2012, the number of employed persons in the country increased by 116.2 thousand people.
It is noteworthy that in the last four years, despite the government claims the opening of hundreds of thousands of new jobs, the number of unemployed in absolute terms decreased very slowly.
In 2009, there were approximately 259 thousand unemployed, the beginning of this year it reached 243.1 thousand, a decrease of 16 thousand people. - 08B-
