Gas export via SCP went up thanks to commercial gas deliveries to Georgia
In 2013 4.7 billion cub.m. of natural gas was exported via the South Caucasian Pipeline (SCP).
According to the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee, this us up 700 million cub.m. against the same period last year.
In January 2012 400 million cub.m. was exported via SCP, in February – 251.8 million cub.m., in March – 310.7 million cub.m., in April – 437.5 million cub.m., in May – 400 million cub.m., in June – 300 million cub.m. of gas, in July – 400 million cub.m., in August – 400 million cub.m., in September – 200 million cub.m., in October – 700 million cub.m., in November – 500 million cub.m. and in December – 400 million cub.m.
During 2012 4 billion cub.m. of natural gas was exported via SCP, down 500 million cub.m. against 2011.
Last year increase in the gas deliveries via SCP was connected with growth of gas export from the Shah-Deniz to Georgia. For the first time the Shah-Deniz project partners have started commercial deliveries to the neighboring country. Before that Georgia received only free transit gas from the Shah-Deniz.
Natural gas extracted from the Shah-Deniz offshore gas condensate field is exported via SCP. Gas is delivered to Georgia and Turkey. The partners of the Shah-Deniz production sharing agreement (PSA) are BP (operator with 28.8%), Statoil (15.5%), SOCAR (16.7%), LUKoil (10%), NICO (10%), Total (10%) and TPAO (9%).—0--
