Imports from the EU increased by 40.9%
Baku/28.01.14/Turan : In 2013, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and EU countries amounted to $ 15,276.1 million. This was 7.5 % increase over 2012 .
The share of the EU in foreign trade turnover in 2012 amounted to 46.8%. This is 1.8 % higher than the previous year , according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan. While imports from the EU ( $ 3762 million ) grew by 40.7%. Exports of goods in the reverse direction ( $ 11 513.3 million ) decreased by 0.2 %.
The conomist Rovshan Agayev wrote on the Facebook page the Azerbaijani government officials do not like European values ?for the control system and emphasis on human rights. However, they willingly and without skimping buy European goods that give them pleasure and comfort. - 08D-

Rashad Huseynov has been appointed as the new director of the Center for Agricultural Research under the Ministry of Agriculture, replacing Firdousi Fikretzade who led the center since 2019. Fikretzade stepped down from his position on June 10 at his own request.
