In November, recorded a sharp decline in POS terminals
Number of outstanding active cards of Azerbaijani banks expanded in November 2013 to 152 thousand units , to 5,515,000 units. Annual growth is 8.8%.
In January-November cardholders carried 60616 thousand transactions totaling 9147 million manat. With the growth of the total number of transactions by 17.9 % and volume by 15.8 % compared with the corresponding period in 2012 , the number of credit card transactions grew 2.5 times to 9103 thousand, and their turnover - 58.3% up to 1349 manats. During the year the total number of credit cards increased by 2.1 times to 863 thousand units.
The main part of card transactions in the period this year still fell on ATMs - 46690 thousand transactions in the amount of 7613 million manat. Of these, 98.8 % for operations related to the withdrawal of cash.
Service maps produced by 2411 ATMs and POS-terminals 33301. For the first year, the number increased by 7.6 %, while the second number decreased by 8.8% and only in November - 5%.
As of December 1, 2013 in Baku were established 1,360 ATMs and 29,101 POS-terminals. In service facilities operated 31,897 POS-terminals, including in Baku - 28,265 POS-terminals. -15B-
