Business delegation from Hungary comes to Baku
The 4th meeting of the Azerbaijani-Hungarian Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation will be held on January 28 in Baku , in which the business communities of the two countries will hold a forum for the development of trade and economic relations . Previous business forum was organized in Baku in February 2011.
The Fund for Export Promotion and Investment in Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) told Turan that the forum is expected to involve representatives from several Hungarian private companies operating in various sectors of the economy (construction, ICT, agriculture, food equipment, textiles, pharmaceuticals, tourism, finance, alternative energy, real estate, packaging, etc.).
In 2012-2013, exports to Hungary were at an insignificant level (within $ 50 million). Imports from Hungary to Azerbaijan totaled $ 33 million, which is 39.4 % more than in 2012. Note that Azerbaijan imports from that country about 170 items of goods, mainly medicines, generators, cars, women's and children's hygiene products, accessories for phones, overhead and tower cranes, and food. - 08D -

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
