In September, Number of Employees Decreased by 3,800
As of October 1, 1 million 516.4 thousand employees worked in Azerbaijan’s economy. This is 3,800 less than a month earlier.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the public sector employed 886,700, and the non-public sector employed 628,700 people. The number of employees in state enterprises and organizations decreased over the month by 1.1 thousand, and in private entities – by 2.7 thousand people.
The number of employees in the past few years varies around 1.5 million, although the government says about the opening of hundreds of thousands of permanent jobs. ---08D
