Increase in Social Benefits by 10% to Affect 1.85 Million Men
The recent presidential decree on improving the basic part of labor pensions concerns 1 million 223 thousand beneficiaries of funds, the Chairman of the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) Elman Mehdiyev told the media today. According to him, for this purpose during the year there will be gradually allocated an additional 140 million manats.
Recall, according to the latest decree, the basic part of labor pension from February 1 will be increased by 10% - from 100 to 110 manats. In general, the growth of social benefits will cover 1.85 million people.
In addition to pensioners it will regard those who have first-degree disability (120% of the basic pension), including the visually impaired of the first degree (200% of the base).
Families of martyrs (13,487) from February 1 will receive 220 manats (+10%). The monthly presidential pension for the disabled of January 20, 1990 (317 people) will regard 18 people with first-group disabilities - 165 manats, 190 second-group disabled - 143 manats and 109 third-group disabled - 110 manats.
There will also be increased monthly allowance for food costs for internally displaced persons (566,000 people), to which there will be allocated about 11.3 million manats of budgetary funds.
Recall, according to the presidential decree, increase in the social welfare amounted to 10%, while the two devaluations (February 21 and December 21, 2015) lowered the rate of the manat to the US dollar at 100%, by the same reducing the purchasing power of the population. --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
