Kazakh oil exports through Azerbaijan increased by 6 times
In the eleven months spanning January to November 2023, Kaztransoil, the the leading company National Oil Transportation Company of Kazakhstan, has demonstrated a remarkable surge in the volume of Kazakh oil exports originating from the strategic port of Aktau. The noteworthy escalation amounts to a staggering 50%, underscoring the company's pivotal role in advancing Kazakhstan's energy export prowess.
Official figures released by the press service of Kaztransoil reveal that the aggregate export of Kazakh oil from the port of Aktau during this period reached an impressive 3 million 62 thousand tons. This substantial uptick represents a formidable increase of 1 million 14 thousand tons compared to the corresponding interval in the preceding year, a remarkable surge emblematic of the company's robust operational performance.
The surge in oil exports from Aktau can be attributed to a strategic augmentation in the raw materials channelled to the port of Baku, which experienced an unprecedented sixfold surge from 205 thousand tons to a substantial 1.238 million tons. This surge, witnessed over the same eleven-month period, underscores the growing importance of regional collaborations and trade partnerships.
Furthermore, the port of Aktau has played a pivotal role in facilitating the transit of 1.824 million tons of oil towards the port of Makhachkala during the eleven months under scrutiny. This dual-directional movement of substantial oil volumes accentuates the strategic positioning of Aktau as a linchpin in the energy supply chain, serving as a conduit for Kazakh oil to reach diverse destinations.
Kaztransoil's resounding success in amplifying oil exports attests to its adept management and strategic foresight, positioning Kazakhstan as a formidable player in the global energy market. As geopolitical dynamics continue to shape the energy sector, the nation's prowess in oil transportation is poised to remain a critical driver of economic vitality and international influence.
