Legal Import of Mobile Phones to Azerbaijan Increased 2.6 Times
Baku / 19.08.17 / Turan: In the first half of this year more than 306 thousand mobile phones were delivered to Azerbaijan for commercial purposes. This is 2.6 times more than the legal import of these devices for the comparable period of 2016, the State Customs Committee said.
This year, 192,700 smart phones and other mobile phones came from China through customs declaration. 110,200 mobile phones were purchased from Vietnam.
In total, the importers paid $ 27 million 374.4 thousand to the manufacturers. This year mobile phones were declared at the Azerbaijani customs at an average price of $ 89.2 each, $ 20 less than last year.
Mobile phones are the most popular among contraband goods in Azerbaijan. In previous years, legally, not without the "help" of customs authorities, no more than 20% of these goods passed through customs. In 2012, for example, according to the State Customs Committee, 187.5 thousand mobile phones were imported at an average price of $ 50.5 per unit. -----08B
